As we journey through the Jubilee Year 2025, and in anticipation of the upcoming canonisations of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati—two young saints deeply connected to the care of creation and vibrant faith—our parish of Olton Friary joyfully celebrated the Season of Creation with a special outdoor Mass and a Jubilee Musical Concert.

The Season of Creation Mass, held on the lawn outside the church, was a truly beautiful and uplifting celebration of God's creation. Blessed with fine weather, fresh air, and the gentle sound of birdsong, we gathered as a parish community in praise and thanksgiving. The hymns chosen for the Mass reflected our deep appreciation for the natural world. Many parishioners brought their pets, with around ten dogs present, and a special blessing  took place at the end of Mass—a touching reminder of the bond between all of God’s creatures.

Later in the afternoon, the parish—supported generously by the fundraising committee—hosted an amazing Jubilee Musical Concert. The event was a great success, filled with joy, excellent music, delicious food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that brought people together in celebration and fellowship.

I sincerely thank everyone who worked tirelessly alongside me to coordinate these two wonderful events. Your dedication, support, and generous spirit helped create a day full of joy, unity, and gratitude to our Creator.

With heartfelt thanks,
Fr. Biju Antony, SCJ
