Father Hudson's Caritas

Father Hudson’s Caritas provides social care throughout the Archdiocese of Birmingham. It cares for the elderly, for those with learning, physical and sensory disabilities, for children and families and also provides fostering and community projects.

Working with parishes and community groups across the Archdiocese, it works with homeless people, refugees and migrants, and people experiencing social isolation. It works with people of all faiths and none, without favour or discrimination.

Taking its mission from Christ’s command to ‘love one another as I have loved you’, Father Hudson’s Caritas supports people to achieve a fullness of life.

While it has its own identity and is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, Father Hudson’s has close links with the Archdiocese.

The Archbishop of Birmingham is the President of the Trust and attends at least two Trustees’ meetings each year, including the AGM.

Wherever possible Father Hudson's will work with parishes and deaneries to create services for the wider community, using whatever resources the Church can make available.

The generosity of parishes in making available their community centres and volunteers, and publicity channels, and often providing financial help, has led to the development of powerful community services.
