Parishioners at Sacred Heart, Bilton marked the Season of Creation with a special Creation Mass on 5 October, the closest Sunday to the Feast of St Francis.

The liturgy included the new prayers of the Creation Mass and one of the Creation Gospels, as well as a dramatised reading of the Genesis Creation story from the Dramatised Bible, shared by three readers.

Ahead of the celebration, teenage parishioners created display boards featuring photographs by Fr Graham Venn, who lives at the parish. His night-time images captured the surprising variety of wildlife visiting the presbytery garden — including foxes, a badger and even a muntjac deer.

The Mass was warmly received by the Sunday congregation and offered a vivid reminder of the beauty of creation and the call to care for our common home.
