Latest Events Hear about how you can help Christians in the Holy Land The CEO of Friends of the Holy Land, Brendan Metcalf will be coming to speak at St Andrew’s Church in Ombersley on Monday 8 June at 7pm. Brendan will talk about the parishes in the Holy Land and how we are able to give hope to vulnerable Christians there. He has been the Chief Executive of the Friends of the Holy Land ecumenical charity since 2019 and he visits the Holy Land regularly, even in the most difficult and hazardous of conditions. His knowledge of the area is extensive. If you have ever been on pilgrimage to the Holy Land or have a heart for the land where Jesus lived and walked, this is an opportunity to hear how the tiny and often beleaguered Christian communities in Palestine and Israel are coping. Brendan Metcalf lived, worked and travelled in the Gulf States for 10 years before becoming CEO of the Friends of the Holy Land. During his time with the charity, he has increased its annual income by 300% and has enabled funding to be channelled into Gaza where it is most needed. He has also ensured that safeguarding policies are in place in the partner organisations with which the Friends of the Holy Land works and is committed to building relationships in both the UK and the Holy Land. His work and that of others in the charity enables around £1.5m of support to be given directly and mainly to the Christians in the Holy Land each year Book Manage Cookie Preferences
