Blessed Pope Paul VI (reigning 1963 – 1978) was declared a Saint on Sunday 14 October.

As Cardinal Giovanni Battista Montini, he was Archbishop of Milan, and thus, like Saint Charles Borromeo, a successor to Saint Ambrose.

The rain didn’t dampen spirits on the morning of 14th October, as the special day fell on the Sunday, it was only fitting that Saint Ambrose celebrated the occasion with parishioners coming together after mass to say prayers in the Montini room, before enjoying a shared lunch.

The event was well attended and the Year 6 children had made special place mats for the service. This coincided nicely as they have been researching Saints.

As part of their journey in faith, this particular Sunday was also their commitment mass, ahead of their confirmation next month.
